Preschool Curriculum and Activities
Simply put, children learn best by doing – by exploring, playing and being “hands-on” learners. From creative art projects, focus on phonics and math, learning to read and working with numbers, the preschool curriculum and activities at Children’s Network will inspire your enthusiastic learner to be the best they can be.
Our Creative Kaleidoscope of Learning curriculum is based on monthly themes that incorporate the following: Phonics focus, introduction to Math, Science, Literacy skills, Social Studies, Fine Motor/Handwriting skills, Cooking, Art, Music and Movement, Spanish and Sign Language Activities.
Carefully planned Discovery Centers throughout the classroom encourage children to learn through their exploration, offering a wide variety of choices and play experiences. Each activity is matched to the characteristic ages and stages of ability for the age group, as well as the individual child.
Children’s Network recognizes the importance of building self-esteem at a very young age. We encourage a positive sense of self by using praise, support and encouraging independence. The importance of manners, empathy, patience and other character building skills are reinforced throughout the day.
Studying other countries and cultures is a part of our monthly preschool curriculum and activities. Pictures, posters and books are displayed throughout the classrooms. Circle time discussions are enhanced with “hands-on” art, games and cooking activities. Children participate in Spanish language classes.
