- Infants
Infants
and toddlers thrive when they are allowed to explore and when they
have caring adults who care for them in a predictable way and who
cherish their accomplishments. Leaving an infant or toddler in the
care of someone else is difficult for parents to do. Trust and emotional
security develop when infants know their needs will be met predictably.
Care givers and parents communicate to form an effective alliance
to build strong relationships and routines in childrens lives.
Our care givers take time to communicate with parents many ways:
Written Daily Notes
Each day our teachers prepare a daily report
given to parents at the end of the day with information about activities,
eating, sleeping, diapers, and just how your youngster felt that
day.
Telephone Calls
Our infant and toddler teachers are available to
call you directly from their rooms to consult
and you may contact
them by telephone if you wish.
-
Everyday Conversation
-
Some of the most effective communication
occurs when you arrive in the morning
to place your child in our care and when you return to take your
child home.
- Scheduled
Meetings
Formal parent/teacher conferences are held twice a year
and other scheduled meetings can be set up by appointment.
The curriculum for our infants and toddlers is based on the unique
daily experience of each infant and toddler and the one-on-one interaction
between each child and that childs care giver. This includes
singing, playing, learning to relate to classmates, exploring the
environment around them, as well as diapering, feeding, washing
and comforting.
