Preschool
The preschool program at Children’s Network has several components. These components provide an atmosphere where children can be creative and independent, can develop a love of learning and can develop emotionally, socially, and physically, while also enhancing their feelings of self worth.

Circle Time is used as an informational, educational small group setting to encourage a positive self-concept and feeling of worth, to provide an atmosphere where a child feels secure and comfortable away from home. Circle time is often as a time for children to acknowledge their classmates and to encourage teamwork and cooperation.
Themes are used to expand the child’s background with meaningful educational experiences which are necessary for future school success in various subject areas. Themes are viewed as an educational resource to strengthen language development, science and social studies. Some typical themes could be dinosaurs, holiday seasons, all-about-me, airplanes, etc. Teachers use these themes as a starting place, sometimes creating new related themes, if children show interest in a topic

Language Development/Reading Readiness is developed through participation in multi-sensory activities which build oral language, listening skills, vocabulary, sentence development and even the ability to communicate with others.

Math Readiness in the preschool is achieved through activities and use of manipulative which develop understanding of mathematical concepts through the use of concrete materials. These help children understand relationships and mathematical concepts which form the building blocks of mathematical learning.

Learning Centers in the preschool classroom are set up in the classrooms to help children grow through serf-discovery. They develop a sense of responsibility while building their ability to play independently and strengthening their decision-making abilities.

Music is taught in preschool classrooms daily and develops, not only a sense of rhythm, pitch, and a knowledge of musical instruments, but also the child’s verbal ability as lyrics are learned and sung. Exposure to music has also been shown to enhance mathematical ability in children.

Spanish is also taught in preschool classrooms each day. It has long been known that preschool children have a remarkable ability to learn languages which far surpasses the abilities of older children and adults. Children acquire basic conversational phrases and songs in Spanish.

Other curriculum components include computer skills, motor skills, art, science and even some cooking.

Preschool Enrichment Opportunities such as swimming lessons are offered during the summer to children who have turned four-years-old. Dance classes, gymnastics and special computer classes are also available. These enrichment opportunities require additional fees paid to the qualified teachers involved.
